Meet the Team

Team Vicar - Revd David Spence

I am married to Ellie and we have four children. We only arrived in North Tawton in the summer of 2022, but we already thoroughly enjoy being here. I trained as a vicar in Bristol and I have had since ministered in Oxfordshire and Hull before moving to Devon. Before being a vicar I worked in computing research and I still have a great interest in computing. I enjoy connecting with God through exploring the countryside, on foot or by bike. So, if you do see me out and about then do say hello! I am passionate about Jesus and people getting to know him personally and grasping just how great he is – I hope that through my ministry here more people would know Jesus better!

Assistant Minister - Revd Rita Bullworthy

I am married to Terry and we have three grown up children and four grand-children. We have lived in Sampford Courtenay for 14 years since we retired from running the family business. I was trained for ministry in SWMTC - the local diocesan training scheme for ministers. I feel my particular calling is to the diaconate - which amongst other things means serving on the fringes of the church with a particular calling to reach out to those who would not normally come to church.

Parish Worker - Wez Cutler

I am married to Kathy and we have two children, Felicity who’s 4 and a half and Elizabeth who’s 2 and a half. We now live on the outskirts of North Tawton and love being part of community life. I have worked for St Peter’s for nearly three years and work full-time for the church taking up a variety of ministry roles, from leading toddler groups to cooking our Men's Breakfast each month. I am currently looking at ways to grow our children's and youth ministry, helping them to understand how much Jesus loves us and how we can live for Him.

I am originally from Exeter, so haven’t travelled far! I would probably refer to myself as a bit of geek – as I’m very much into boardgames, films and anything Star Wars, but have learned to embrace my quirkiness and so has Kathy! I’m also a big fan of football and table tennis, music and my all time passion, food!
